RDF Ushers in the Chinese new Year | Negosentro | RDF Ushers in the Chinese New Year | City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Over 1500 employees and guests of RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc. celebrated the Chinese New Year on January 14, 2025, at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in Pampanga.
For 2025, the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival starts on January 29 and ends on February 12. This year’s zodiac animal is the wood snake.
With the theme, “Cheers to New Beginnings,” the event kicked off with a Building Decoration Contest (of various RDF buildings and selected stores of Fresh Options) on January 6.
In observance of the Chinese New Year, the Chinese adorn their houses with red lanterns because they believe that hanging them in front of the house will drive evil spirits and bad luck, while red symbolizes good fortune, happiness, and prosperity. The tradition also signifies removing the old, welcoming the New Year with a fresh start, and embracing the possibilities ahead.
Afternoon Program
In a mini Binondo-inspired island booth outside of Kingsborough, employees were treated to food and drink galore, allowing them to experience the Binondo food crawl, savoring some of the popular Chinese-Filipino fusion dishes like fried wanton, fried quekiam, pork kutchay, and fresh lumpia from Little Chinatown. RDF owns and operates Little Chinatown at Don Juico Avenue in Angeles City.
Moreover, the gathering was an occasion to recognize 69 loyal employees at the Employees Service Awards; and eight outstanding programs that embodied the core values of RDF through the annual TRIUMPPH Awards. Employees who have worked for the company for at least five years received plaques and tokens. The awardee for 35 Years of Service is Mr. Jacinto Candole, Jr. The TRIUMPPH winners, on the other hand, were awarded trophies.
Ms. Millie Joy Mandocdoc, Head of Human Resources, and Dr. Joy Michelle Literato, Director for Corporate Affairs, were the emcees of the Employees Service Awards and the TRIUMPPH Awards, respectively.

Evening Program
Aside from the colorful parade featuring dragon and lion dancers, the main highlight of the evening program was the Chinese Dance Competition, in which employees from 16 cluster buildings of RDF participated. Also, adding to the fun and excitement was the selection of Mr. & Ms. Little Chinatown. Another most anticipated portion of the program was the electronic draw that raffled off almost 300 prizes.
Ms. Danica Borres and Mr. JM de Jesus hosted the evening program.
