RDF ADVANCES FOOD SAFETY PREPAREDNESS WITH GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND MOCK RECALL

RDF | RDF ADVANCES FOOD SAFETY PREPAREDNESS WITH GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND MOCK RECALL

In a bold move to strengthen food safety and operational readiness, RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc. staged a high-impact General Assembly at its central depot in Porac, Pampanga, followed by a tightly choreographed Mock Recall on February 9, 2026. The whole day activity underscores the company’s commitment to transparency, regulatory compliance, and a culture of accountability across its expansive production network.

A Unifying Call to Action

More than a policy briefing, the General Assembly served as a platform to reaffirm strategic priorities, clarify food safety standards, and reinforce accountability across the manufacturing plant. Attendees heard a clear message: open, timely communication about updates, performance results, and challenges keeps everyone informed, reduces gaps between decision-makers and frontline teams, and drives more efficient execution.

Mock Recall: A Real-World Readiness Drill

After the assembly, RDF’s Technical Services and Quality Assurance (TSQA) Department conducted a Mock Recall to test transparency and organizational readiness. The exercise stress-tested the company’s traceability systems, evaluated cross-functional coordination, and reinforced accountability to maintain regulatory compliance and protect consumer safety.

The exercise was designed to unfold within a three-hour window from the moment of announcement, mirroring the speed and decisiveness required in genuine recall scenarios.

Compliance benchmarks for the mock recall were based on HACCP, FDA, NMIS, GMP, and FSSC standards, as well as RDF’s internal Food Safety and Quality protocols. The operation was led by the TSQA Manager, who chaired a Recall Team supported by colleagues from Quality Assurance for Plant and Retail Operations, Plant Operations (including Production, Warehouse, and Logistics), and Sales.

An incident command structure established a clear chain of command: the TSQA Manager would initiate recall execution and escalate rapidly to the Recall Team once traceability was validated, and the recall’s severity was determined.

A Real-World Scenario: E. coli Contamination Case

The exercise centered on a hypothetical confirmed E. coli contamination in Beef Tapa, with an expiration date of March 29, 2026, and a batch code of 01. Classified as a Class I Recall due to potential serious health consequences, the scenario tested every facet of response readiness. The official announcement was issued at 1:35 PM via a written memo and distributed via Viber, Messenger, and SMS.

Members of the Recall team gathered and compiled all records and pertinent information from Production, QA, Shipping, Retail stores, and other sources. Warehouse reviews indicated that other products from the same production lot remained in inventory, underscoring the need for comprehensive containment and disposition actions moving forward. All affected products were placed on hold in retail stores within 2 hours and 55 minutes of the announcement.

Observations and Impact

Observers described the General Assembly as a foundational platform for aligning the workforce with RDF’s strategic direction and for reinforcing a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. The Mock Recall demonstrated end-to-end readiness, testing traceability, internal coordination, external communications, and regulatory compliance. Clear roles, defined escalation paths, and data-driven processes were highlighted as the backbone of an effective recall response, with a strong emphasis on protecting consumers and maintaining public trust.

Why It Matters to RDF’s Stakeholders

For Customers: The drill underscores RDF’s ability to detect and mitigate health hazards before products reach homes.

For Partners: Confidence in RDF’s data-driven, auditable recall capabilities.

For Employees: A shared culture where careful planning, data integrity, and cross-functional execution translate into tangible health protections every day.

As RDF continues to expand its distribution network, these activities—grounded in transparency and collaboration—will remain central to its mission to deliver safe, reliable food products to its customers.
